I recently discovered that certain ingredients in some of the most popular name brands of sunscreen are very harmful to Coral Reefs.
Coral Reefs are very important to the Ocean for many different reasons. It is our responsibility as humans to make sure that we don't contribute to killing them. In February of 2020, Forbes Magazine did an article. It said that scientists estimate about 70 to 90% of all coral reefs will disappear primarily as a result of warming ocean waters, ocean acidity, and pollution.
Many organizations are trying to protect and restore Coral Reef. In fact, The Florida Aquarium in Tampa, Florida, has had success in reproducing Coral Reefs. However, let's do our part and be more conscious of what products we are using so we can help to maintain a healthy ocean.
